Comments Off on Endless Activities on Property at the Wentworth Inn
With a well-appointed perch at The Wentworth Inn, you’re auspiciously situated to explore one of New England’s most beloved outdoor playgrounds and sightseeing destinations: the White Mountains of New Hampshire, which nestle our village of Jackson in a grand embrace. From the summit of Mount Washington (the loftiest peak in the Northeast) and the rapids of the Saco River to postcard-perfect 19th-century covered bridges, there’s an amazing amount to see and do within easy day-tripping distance of our White Mountain inn.
We’ve got some exciting news here at The Wentworth Inn, for guests and daytime visitors alike. We’ve got a brand-new upscale tavern to offer at our European-style inn—introducing Alpine!
Our new bar and lounge will complement the lauded locally sourced dining options we offer here at our Wentworth Inn restaurant, providing a cheery, elevated sort of watering hole in the heart of Jackson Village, New Hampshire in the spectacular White Mountains.

We are proud and excited to share that we were featured as one of the 16 Top Romantic Getaways in New Hampshire. This designation comes from the U.S News & World Report, in their recent November 2022 feature.
Comments Off on Cross-Country Skiing in Jackson, New Hampshire
A winter stay at The Wentworth Inn puts some of the best cross-country skiing in the country right at your (gloved) fingertips. That’s a bold claim, but one we don’t imagine will provoke much argument: After all, as a guest of ours you’ll literally be steps from what some consider the finest Nordic trail system in the eastern U.S., nestled in the wintry embrace of the mighty White Mountains.
The Jackson Ski Touring Foundation Trails (and Beyond)
Our Inn lies just across the street from the base lodge of the Jackson Ski Touring Foundation, which since the early 1970s has maintained an outstanding system of cross-country routes in our picture-perfect New Hampshire village of Jackson via a special-use permit from the White Mountain National Forest and in collaboration with the town and dozens of private landowners.
The Jackson Ski Touring Foundation system accounts for more than 150km of both Nordic and snowshoe trails accommodating a wide range of skill levels and adventurous ambitions. The recreational possibilities are even more extensive when you consider that these trails link up to Appalachian Mountain Club routes in Pinkham Notch as well as the extensive backcountry winter trails of the White Mountain National Forest.
Courtesy patrols through the Foundation monitor the trails, there to give you a hand if you need it.
You can purchase one-day or multi-day passes to use the trails or opt for a season pass, which is a great idea for regular winter guests of The Wentworth. The Foundation rents all the equipment you need if you’re not bringing your own skis, poles, etc., including pulk sleds for hauling little ones about on the snowpack.

Comments Off on Romantic North Conway Hotel for Valentine’s Day
A friendly heads-up: Valentine’s Day is inching ever closer on the calendar and will be here before you can say “sweetheart.” If you’re hoping to really wow that special somebody of yours this year, we invite you to spend February 14th (or thereabouts) with us here at The Wentworth Inn, where the two of you will enjoy the finest in New England hospitality amid the swoony winter-scape of New Hampshire’s White Mountains.
The Romance of The Wentworth
Romance comes easy here, what with the postcard-worthy charm of our Jackson Village (complete with a covered bridge) and the inspiring natural vistas at every turn. But the broader setting itself is only part of the appeal: Our Inn itself is tailor-made for romantic idylls.
After all, our grand, European-style hotel is awash in architectural beauty, and furthermore its origin story is one of old-fashioned romance. James Trickey built The Wentworth in 1869 as a wedding present for his daughter Georgia and her betrothed, General Marshall Wentworth. We still have a copy of General Wentworth’s handwritten letter to Georgia’s father, formally asking permission to marry her. (You can read that lovely note here.)
Thus love is woven into the very fabric of things at The Wentworth Inn, making us the perfect choice for a Valentine’s Day getaway. Besides the perfection of your lodgings—which might take the shape of one of our deluxe rooms, which alongside a gas fireplace and a king bed offer either a private outdoor hot tub or an oversized whirlpool tub in the bathroom—you’ll have access to our gourmet, farm-to-table restaurant: no better place for a date-night dinner!
Romance Packages at The Wentworth Inn
Now’s the time to arrange your Valentine’s Day retreat at The Wentworth in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. To really pull off a masterpiece of a lovers’ holiday, consider one of our Wentworth Romance Packages, which you’ll most definitely want to lock down sooner rather than later!
