Held on Sunday, May 29 from 8 AM to 4 PM, it’s definitely a spectacle you won’t want to miss, the highlight being some 3,500 rubber ducks racing their way down the riffles and shoals of the Wildcat River. It doesn’t cost a red cent to attend the jubilee (which also includes children’s activities, food vendors, and other delights), but proceeds from duck tickets and eats go to good causes: The Festival’s a fundraiser for a number of local non-profits—the Special Olympic swim team, the Jackson Police Department, and others—as well as the Jackson Area Chamber of Commerce.
So beeline your way to the Wildcat riverbanks and cheer on the rubber duck of your choice as the buoyant, ever-smiling racers spin, bounce, and tumble their way downstream! And maybe you’ll even catch a glimpse of the Festival’s cheery mascot, old Wildquack himself…
