Pristine White Mountains Golf Course in Jackson Village, NH
Golfing in the White Mountains of Jackson Village, NH is the best of everything at your fingertips. The Wentworth Golf Club, located right next to our quaint inn, has an 18-hole course that really gives you some great play plus a bit of a challenge.
Hole 1 is a tricky Par 4. It narrows a bit closer to the green, with trees on the left. The right hand side of the hole has “out of bounds” and a hazard line. Also, beware of the five sand traps guarding the green on this one. Best advice, take a big tee shot then pull out the short iron and aim for center green to avoid sand.
Just a pro’s tip for Hole 2 – Par 4, heads up, white tees at 337 yards, 220 yards beyond you’ll find a water hazard in the rough to the right. Accuracy counts on this elevated green to by-pass the four sand traps. Long hitters will manage easily using a driver.
Jackson Village is a charming scenic mountain area surrounded by rushing rivers, covered bridges, festivals and music events, and of course, the majestic White Mountain vistas of New Hampshire. While you’re golfing your first 18 right next door, your family can choose from horseback riding, canoeing, tax-free outlet shopping or just sitting by the fireplace reading a book.
Skipping ahead to Hole 14 – Par 3, (we need to leave a few surprises for you!), this hole is a long uphill challenge that will likely result in several balls rolling back down the hilly green, leaving a steep uphill pitch shot. Par will be an excellent score for this devilish hole. Hint: you’ll need a couple of clubs, depending on the wind.
One way to capture some of the most breathtaking scenery in New England is to hitch a ride on the Wildcat Gondola’s Scenic Skyride. Taking a turn on ZipRider, their brand new zip line, will exhilarate and astound as you find yourself soaring over treetops for a half-mile. Tow can ride & scream side-by-side. They even have a “Lunch & Ride” package.
Ok, so how is the final hole? Hole 18 – a short Par 4, you want to create a comfortable approach by playing the club that will leave a preferred distance on the second shot. Aim dead on at the pin on the left side of the green for a great chance at a birdie. Once you have conquered this course, you will be amazed at how many world-class golf courses this small village has to offer.
When you stay with here at The Wentworth Inn, everything is perfected, every detail accounted for and taken care of for you, leaving you time to prepare your clubs and find a caddy. From the moment you enter your room, your family or loved one will feel welcomed and expected.
